“CASA Gala is the largest annual fundraiser for CASA. In the forth year CASA Goes Global had over 300 people in attendance at the KC Hall in Washington and raised over $25,000. The next gala featuring The Smash Band and celebrity waiters at the KC Hall will be held Nov.6th. Tickets available by September. |

The 2010 CASA Sweetheart pageant sponsored by Imperial Pageants and Watson Florist was held February 6 at Pacific High School. Through the 21 contestant pledges and door entry fees over $1,500 was donated to Franklin County CASA. The 2010 CASA sweethearts who will represent CASA at area parades and community events are Baby Miss CASA, 13 month old Hollee Winistoerfer, next division Toddler Miss CASA, 3 year old Lily Johnston. Then 6 year old Lizzie Tuschoff is Tiny Miss CASA, and Little Miss CASA is 10 year old Jessica Overschmidt, then Teen Miss CASA is 14 year old Kristy Cox and the final division is Miss CASA Sweetheart, Lynsey Gilleylen at age 18 years. |

In recognition of April as Child Abuse Prevention Month CASA conducted the 3rd annual Keep Kids Safe Campaign. This year’s campaign began with a K-9 Walk which was held at the Pacific City Park. Participants both human and dogs dressed up in blue to show their support of child abuse prevention. The winner of the Bow-wow Blues award went to Roscoe and his owners, Monica and Dana Mahler. The winner of the Blue-aid award, which was the participant who raised the most $ for CASA went to Judy Mitchell, and the winners of the Best of the Blues Award went to team “Blues Clues” who were gathering clues on ways to prevent child abuse. Keep Kids Safe Campaign
In honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month, CASA conducted the Keep Kids Safe Campaign during the month of April. Throughout the month community members donated a $1 to have their blue ribbon posted in a place of business and/or to wear a blue ribbon pin. Each establishment also displayed awareness posters and/or distributed literature regarding child abuse and neglect. There were articles written in the local newspapers, interviews on local radio stations and presentations given to civic organizations and churches discussing ways community members can help prevent abuse. Harley Davison Motorcycle Raffle
Da Family MC has gone above and beyond by conducting a raffle for a new Harley Davison Motorcycle. The winner of the motorcycle was Terry Stevens. Proceeds from the raffle were split between Franklin County CASA and the Children’s Advocacy Center. |

Franklin County CASA organized a Free Family Fun Day at the Sullivan Middle School in celebration of Child Abuse Prevention Month in April. The following organizations presented information and an activity for children and families:
